sundance rules and guidelines
general
First and foremost do not cross any lines: do not mix ic and ooc or cause unnecessary drama. Keep a certain realism with your character and storylines played out (marriage, pregnancy). When dealing with serious matters make sure to put a warning for other members. If you are uncertain or need a few answers feel free to contact the mods, we will do our best to help. For now, there is no limit of characters per player but please do not bring more than you can handle.
applying
To apply you will need a journal related to your character's name (or stage name), and a set of examples composed of two threads and two entries. You will also need a directory containing your credits, a biography OR a list of well detailed facts; what we are looking for is something that will give us (but also other members) enough information about your character but also their career. Only one challenge per face; we will do our best to pick fairly but in case we believe both applicants are adequate we will follow the "first come, first served" policy. In case of rejection you can contact the mods for clarification.
activity
In order to make the community live we are asking every member to be active. Once you are accepted you have three days to post an introduction and reply to the comments; and two weeks to provide any sign of activity (links to random post and/or various comment threads). Failure to do so will have you removed from the community. Members are required to update every four weeks (new members included) and show any sign of activity (comment threads, subcom post, taking part in ig activities) during this time frame. While we are aware this is only a hobby, we also want to make sure members are making efforts beyond the bare minimum. We do not allow extensions. Hiatuses can be granded for a minimum of two weeks; once returning from a hiatus you will have one week to provide an update if you are at +4 weeks since your last update.
removal
Members removed for inactivity are required to update if they wish to reapply. If you have the misfortune of being challenged (face or credits) you will be considered like a new applicant and will not be given preferential treatment for being a past member of the community. A removal equals a warning in activity, once you've reached three warnings you will be removed and won't be able to apply with this particular character to the game. Overrides will be given to members being inactive for two weeks without any visible sign of activity; being put on override three times in a row equals a warning. While these might seem unfair, this is the only way for us to make sure members don't hog on faces or roles.
credits
Realism is key when picking credits. Follow the 5 years rule between your character's age and the claim. Don't take too many roles per year, allow diversity in roles and actor claims; even the best has a few flops commercially or critically in their resumes. Director, writers and musician characters must take the entire career of their claim. Dates of releases and projects can't be changed. Overall, we are trusting members to make the best judgement when it comes to picking credits. If you need clarification you can comment the mods and we will do our best to help. Credits that are too unrealistic will be simply rejected. Regarding credits additions: unless given the authorization by the mods, you must provide an update before requesting any new credits. A person who has been inactive or on override will need to update before making new credit requests.
